Leslie Sansone Williams has brought to the paralegal student a goldmine of advice to getting work in this field. I am very pleased with this resource which also lead me to her many free Youtube.com videos on helping us get our first jobs in this field.
The book is an easy read and a good resource for those wanting to enter the paralegal field at an entry-level position. Upon research from other sources, the average age of a paralegal is the mid-30s. For someone who wants to enter the field at an older age, it'll be more of a challenge because of age discrimination (which exists just about everywhere in the corporate world), but surprisingly, it also exists in the legal field. While it's not impossible, this is a competitive field to break in to, and even more so for older entry-level applicants.The resume tips were ok - nothing out of the ordinary. Since most resumes are submitted online via Indeed, Linked-In, Glassdoor, etc., I felt the section about the color of paper to use is obsolete. A couple of links were provided as a guide to resume samples, but there wasn't enough information provided in my opinion. Another link is given regarding cover letters, but that's about it. No samples were provided in her book.
This book has been very helpful in my search for the right legal position.

This book provides straight forward and practical information about the overall subject of the paralegal field, relevant subject matter, being a paralegal, pitfalls, the authors personal insights (extremely valuable) and do's and don'ts.Mrs. Williams expresses confidence in her audience. She expects you to follow whatever is leading you. She encourages her audience to make their own path, use good judgement, and strongly suggests that we harness the fundamental skills required for breaking into the paralegal field, prior to the execution of your own personal legal break in formula, and most importantly to give it your all. The author has provided fundamental information in this book. The author illustrates how previous work experience in fast food and retail can help in the skill building process of an individual who goes on to the paralegal field and many other inside gems! Knowing how to connect the dots of information is a useful skill for any person considering the paralegal field. This book can help you do just that.Thank you Mrs. Williams, great work! With your insight from this book and your web videos, I was quickly able to see that the paralegal field is spot on for me!
