A book that changed my life! I used to have herpes on my lips since I was 8 y.o. It was my nightmare for 17 years!!!Thanks to my boyfriend, who made this book the whole discovery for me and insisted in buying the book and trying the method, I managed to change my life for GOOD!!! For almoast a year I keep the immune boosting diet (lots lots lots of vegetables and fruits, juices, some meat and fish, NO SUGAR-only honey when needed, only Coconut and Olive oils for cooking and salads, NO SODAS) and use my DMSO 3 days a month treatments (order on amazon.com) + everyday water consuption with Oxygen Force drops (order from official website) and there`s a notice of a huge progress! First I had a few outbreaks, when just started the program, but once in 2-3 months instead of monthly, and so far for half a year I`ve been entirely healthy, without annoying herpes ruining my life :) So happy!!!!! Overal boosted my ummunal system and generously impoved my general health. I had cold/flu only once in the whole year, and it didnt matter when people were sick (coughing/sneezing, with feaver) around me, I just drank my Alcaline water and kept keeping my diet and supporting my strong health. The cards are poorly aligned to the AP Chemistry Test.For instance:- Questions on nomenclature (not on AP Test)- Questions on identifying glassware (not on AP Test)- Questions on organic nomenclature (not on AP Test)- Questions on Bond Order (not on AP test)- Questions on Paramagnetism/Diamagnetism (not on AP Test, as molecular orbital theory is not on AP test either)I was hoping to get these as an additional resource for my students to review for the AP Test but they are not helpful

We used these in my AP Chem class. The students liked them and would sit and go through them voluntarily on their own. They are durable and had a lot of information. Good general knowledge but no complex math etc.

The cards don't ask multiple choice questions, instead they give the student a problem to solve, a definition, or a concept to explain. The explanations in the back are thorough. It also gave my daughter a chance to figure out what she didn't understand and made it possible for me to be able to help her study.

10/10 I'm memorizing 5 cards every day, I'll be done in about 3-5 months

Been a long-time fan of The Dollop ever since the Jackson Cheese episode was recommended to me by my best friend. I highly recommend the podcast to others, but some folks just don't listen to podcasts so I intend to throw this book at those people so they might understand some of the joy in learning about bananas stories from American history. The true stories in this book are condensed and still amusing tales covered in The Dollop episodes.I still highly recommend listening to The Dollop, as they cover some astoundingly racist aspects of our history that should be more prevalent in what we learn in school. This book doesn't delve into those episodes (possibly because those stories cannot be summed up in 2-3 page tales), so there is plenty to explore there.And James Fosdike's illustrations are wonderful. He just gets The Dollop.

I really love the Dollop podcast. I've heard every single episode they've released. So as a long time listener, I was excited to hear that they were publishing a book. The book itself is not so much aimed at current and on-going listeners of the podcast (such as myself) but more to people that haven't listened and are curious what it is about. Of all the stories in the book, only one of them was new (not previously discussed on an existing episode at the time of this writing). This was a bit disappointing but I still enjoyed rereading about the historical oddities that Dave & Gareth have previously covered.If you do listen to the podcast, you'll understand when I say that the stories contained within the book are Smallops, and very abbreviated Smallops at that. For the uninitiated, what I'm stating here is that each historical tale covered in the book is about some person or event or other form of subject. Within the span of a few pages, Dave & Gareth give you a fairly high-level essay about said subject matter. They have some quips to the reader injected here and there and a Fun Fact block at the end of each essay.This is a coffee-table book, a very easy read, and a conversation starter for the uninitiated. If you're a fan of the podcast, buy it and share it with your friends to whet their appetite for the full-sized versions of the story where Dave & Gareth go into the meaty details that they couldn't afford to stuff into this text.

If you listen to The Dollop, it's not really worth your time to read the book. It has a few dozen stories, all of which were told in a much more engrossing fashion on the podcast. Basically Dave, minus Gareth, minus most of the really entertaining details. I don't really fault them for doing this, and don't begrudge the opportunity for them to maybe reach out to a wider audience, but if you're a fan, this will be pretty disappointing.

Say you're a guy... who maybe doesn't like reading, and you tell your staff to only give you good news daily, and maybe your whole family will be going to jail, then this book isn't for you. As this book is filled with America's weird, silly, and.. sad stories of times past.If you enjoy the Dollop, then pick this up!

I have been a fan of The Dollop podcast since day one and it is still my favorite today. Dave and Gary are great hosts/comedians and I knew the book would not disappoint. For longtime fans this book is like having our favorite stories on hand at any time. For someone new to the world of The Dollop it is the perfect introduction. James Fosdike's illustrations give the stories extra depth and are even frame-worthy. Since I can't force my friends to sit down long enough to listen to the podcast I will be buying them copies of this book.

So happy that Dave and Gar(eth)y are sharing their greatness. Their show is fantastic, and this book serves to augment The Dollop with condensed versions of some of their highlits, with disturbingly beautiful artwork. Definitely 5 stars.If for no other reason, buy this book to support two great humans. I met them before and after the SLC show (I gave the guys directions to the venue), and they posed for pics and signed my José poster. All with no rush, nothing but kindness. Definitely two awesome guys.

Very excited to finally get my hands on this book. It was a mother's day gift from my family. (Mother's Day is a topic I hope The Dollop covers someday.) I found out about The Dollop from listening to My Favorite Murder and it quickly became my favorite podcast. (Maybe tied for first place with You Talkin' U2 To Me?)I love the mix of The Dollop stories we know and love and new ridiculousness​ I've never heard of anywhere else.The stories are concise, sharp, and funny with a little bit of entertaining bonus trivia to wrap it up. There are new jokes and takes on the stories already on the podcast so each story feels freshly told.The artwork is amazing. I adore it. It's beautiful, which feels weird to say since it's also often bizarre and grotesque. But it is indeed very beautifully illustrated. It perfectly matches the tone of the subject.Also, this book is excellent even if you've never heard the podcast before. It's a great way to explain the podcast to a Dollop virgin.I love this book. I love the podcast. I love these guys.

Let me begin by saying, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. For those on the path of seeking, this book adds nicely to other literature in your library and is well worth the price.At first, I thought this book would be a great primer for those unfamiliar with esoteric concepts, but I'm not sure at this point, because it delves into some more advanced concepts that may be difficult to grasp for someone just picking this book off the shelf. There were definitely chapters that I sort of sped through, with a promise to come back and think about later. That being said, the fact that it's more of a story (an autobiography, really), than a textbook, makes it an incredibly enjoyable read. You become invested in an outcome and the lessons that the book teaches are more effectively translated because you ride along with the author as she learns those lessons.This book is similar to Aleph by Paulo Cuehlo in that it tells the tale of a personal experience of the author, dealing with past lives and lessons of the physical world and beyond. The exception being, this book really goes into depth about the secrets of mystical teachings, primarily from ancient Egypt; but showing how those teachings are universal, and alive and well in today's world, if one is persistent enough to search for them.All that being said, this is not a book I devoured in short order, primarily due to heavy subjects and, at times, my own struggle with the storyline and personal understandings. However, this book far surpassed my expectations based on some of the reviews. I thought this book was really going to challenge my beliefs, but instead gave me another complementary layer and perspective to add to my growing spiritual understanding. That understanding is that all is one, God is us and everything, we're spirits having a "physical" experience and that experience is to learn and grow in this school on Earth. This book will reinforce those concepts and add many details and perspectives to those concepts.All around a great book and a must read for those who have, at least, a basic grasp of esoteric teachings.One last comment... if Elisabeth Haich's past life memories are true (which I lean toward believing), you also get a history lesson on Ancient Egypt that you won't find in any textbook.

The packaging surrounding the author's ideas is very controversial. The author claims she is describing a past life experience. Supposedly she was initiated into the mystery school back in Egypt when the Great Pyramid was still fully operational. Honestly, whether you believe that or not is irrelevant. Instead, I ask that you ignore the grandiose wrapping and focus on what's in the box: what she actually says about the initiation process and reasons behind those ancient practices. The information there contains its own incredible merit.Let me clear here and just say that I've read a lot of esoteric lore, some of it utter bunk. This stuff, however, is prime real estate. I know this because the ideas in it coincide very well with multiple sources that have stood the test of time.Could she have just borrowed these ideas and slapped on her previous life story for extra attention? Well, sure. But don't make the mistake of thinking what she says about the mystery teachings is erroneous or empty handed. Because it's not. In fact, much of what she shares is so astoundingly profound in its simplicity and poetic subtleties that you can tell she is talking about something she has a deep appreciation and understanding of.You cannot understand this text yourself and grasp what I mean from a purely objective standpoint here. I'm sorry. I know many of you skeptics/cynics out there don't want to hear that. But it's true. You have to have the background experiences yourself to make the intuitive connections that show what she's saying is indeed accurate, which is a roundabout way of saying you have to be a kind of initiate yourself. To put it another way, the author is speaking a language few can hear.I also think this explains the myriad of comments here, many of which seem to like the book but then complain about certain parts. Because this text is littered with complex abstractions, terms few have a genuine sense for, it's really no surprise that there have been several misinterpretations and misunderstandings about what Elisabeth said.Regardless, I'm still forced to present a seemingly contradictory statement at this point and say that the book also presents esoteric teachings in a more accessible fashion. That's where he gets you--simultaneously unwrapping Kimo's latest love life escapade--now with his should-be husband Mike (the Firefighter) Riccardi and their children--around something truly horrifying snorkeling around the islands.This one ratchets up both aspects of Kimo's life (narrated by him) in such a way that it's like a fuse has been lit on at both ends. His relationship with Mike is not front and center here, but rather it's one that features their twins (and their mother), foster son, his and Mike's parents, and a small group of friends and colleagues that form a unique nuclear family.That his chief sidekick here is his detective partner Ray Donne, both now on special assignment with the FBI, brings in more of a close-knit feel to a mystery which unravels in increasingly horrifying ways that take very unexpected turns.That the mystery is solved and the chase which begins in earnest eventually winds up with a satisfying but not exceptionally defined end to this series is a testimony to Plakcy's ability to keep you guessing until the very end.

While any new book from Neil is an automatic addition to my Kindle Wishlist (especially anything new in Mahu), I'm disappointed that editing didn't catch the fact that Kimo and Mike babysit Alpha & Omega in the early part of the book but the latter part of the book has the twins yet unborn (chapter 32 for example). Is the reader supposed to forget Mike's mom helping Kimo soothe their daughter while Mike's dad teaches him proper diapering of baby boy tricks? Maybe I dreamed chapter 6?Otherwise, I enjoyed another riveting investigation and spending time with Kimo and his world. I will continue to read further books in this (and other) series and look forward to Neil's next release. I only hope the editing is better...

This book gives the impression that the first half was written by one of Mr. Plakcy's creative writing students and the last half by a different student without any coordination between them. The twins birth early in the book and then later unbirth in the later chapters is the most obvious. On page 131 a client receives a letter "with no stamp or postmark" which on page 136 "it had gone through the mail". At least this book didn't read like it was written by a foreign ghost writer with English as a second language like one gay fiction writer I won't name.

I am a big fan of this series and thoroughly enjoy the cast of recurring characters, as well as the evolution and maturing of Kimo. This book in the series has a very compelling theme (racial intolerance and religious fanaticism), and an engrossing plot line. I didn't find the discrepancies others did related to the new twins (and I had read the reviews in advance so was on the lookout). I think my only complaints are the following: a too quick almost anticlamactic wrap-up of the main mystery (after a long build up); not all loose ends were tied up (what happened to the two German Shapherds, mentioned multiple times?); and the repeated use of the word "cheesy" as a descriptor of the theme park seemed disrespectful (and not consistent with Kimo's usual respect of cultures). All that aside, the author continues to capture Hawaii and Hawaiian culture well, and his main protagonists are excellent role models and interesting characters. I look forward to the next entry in the series. PS: why hasn't Hollywood picked up on this yet?

I really am a fan of Plakcy"s Mahu series. Best to start at the beginning because the characters are developed during the series. I've read other books by the author but like these characters the best. Not overly exciting but reads smoothly, characters likable, and interesting areas of Hawaii mentioned. Worth the time. Go to fantasticfiction.co.uk and under mysteries type in the authors name or one of his books to get the list of series order. Enjoy!

A very sloppy effort. I'm a fan of the Kimo series, I enjoy the Hawaiian backdrop, the relationships between Kimo and his family and teh plot lines, but this one is a dud. First and foremost teh author injects children into Kimo and Mike's relationship. Problem is you don't know if the kids have been born - assuming so when the guys have to take care of them - or are the kids still in the womb, as evidenced by several references in the last half of the book to the "unborn twins" and the "pregnant mother". The plot line of religious zealotry starts off on a reasonable premise but quickly slips into a contrived story line and ending. The whole thing is sloppy, confusing and frankly not worth the effort. If Mr. Placky can't do better than this after some many successful Kimo novels, then its time to pack it in and let the series expire.

Love this series and its characters. Never tire of the author's work. Each time I see that the author has published a new installment in the series I buy it.

Love Kimo and his ohana. I so relate to Kimo being a surfer in alohaland. Hope there's more stories to come.

I'm building my first timber frame building, which is a shed. I have read six different books on the matter, including from Jack Sobon and Tedd Benson. This book is by far the best book I have ever read on the subject of actually going through the process of making the structure in a detailed step-by-step way. For a beginner, this is invaluable. This book doesn't go into all the history and theories so much, but I didn't want that in this book. I got all the history and theory from other books, now I want better "newbie" instructions on how to get out there and build it. With this book, I am finally so convinced that I know what I am doing that I can go out there and build. I ordered my white oak timbers from a local sawmill, bought the basic tools, and am all fired up and ready to go. To summarize, if you want to actually go out and build a timber frame (vs. a historical read on history and theory), buy this book! Thank you Will Beemer for this masterpiece!

Love this book!! I had studied timber framing for a while with books like "A Timber Framers Workshop" but this book actually takes you step by step on how to build a small TimberFrame structure. I've started building a shed based on the one in the book and its been extremely helpful. Lots of helpful drawings, photos, illustrations and explanations. The author doesn't go into a lot of detail about theory and other types of joinery, but there are plenty of other books about that. This book tells you everything you need to know to get started timber framing by building a small and simple structure. Highly recommend it!

This was a really excellent book. I liked that it went into all the necessary detail to construct a small timber framed building and even provided variations on the base model for additional space or other considerations (such as storage for a large tractor).The approach to the book is very straightforward and I found all the diagrams helpful in describing some of the complexities of the craft.It was also nice to learn about different approaches to timber framing, most specifically "square rule", and how that works. It was also helpful to learn about the alternatives and to understand why they adopt the square rule approach in this book.Overall it is a beautiful well written book well worth the money. I would recommend it.

I bought this because I was trying to learn about timber framing with no previous experience. It is a great book and filled in holes I had from another book I bought. This teaches the square rule method well with lots of pictures and such. It provides plans and practical ways you can modify those plans to build your own outbuilding or small home. I recommend this book.

This book is awesome. It is well-written, has lots of excellent colour photos. Most importantly, it revealed the difference between this art and craft of timber frame building, compared to the mass-produced stick building common today.

First book on timber framing and this does a great job explaining the basics and how to build. I was able to use the instructions to build a timber frame mail box first and really enjoyed the process. Looking forward to using the cabin plans in the book to build a cabin/shed at some point. Very happy and would definitely purchase again.
