First of all, congratulations this is excellent work. May this book reach our history classes. Do not think this book is all "black" this is empowering, detailed and covers history for all of us to understand and connect with. The book is so detailed, so well written and so much information packed in one that is worth more than it is priced. I ask the publisher of this book, to please make this book a bigger size so that the reader has space to take notes, highlight etc and that it is printed a better quality. This is a book to have in your library. BRAVO on this work!!!

I love these kind of books. It took years to put all of this information together. And, they're not done. This is a good read for the intellect. There's not a dull page in the book. It talked about the evolution of sex, why we don't all look alike, the meaning of life, what is life, the conscious universe, the science of death, the mind vs. the brain, mathematics of the universe, living mathematics, universal laws, many many things you've always wondered about. It's not a fast read, a lot of the material will make you stop and think, that's how we grow. I loved this book. Thank You Supreme Understanding and C'BS ALIFE ALLAH for your efforts.

I am reading this book for the second time as we speak and I have advised it to all of my friends at some point of time. It is one of my favorite books i my total collection. I wish I had this when I was in like Jr. High. I think I would have loved science and math more if I saw presented in this easy format. Well done Supreme.

The authors remove all fluff and exclusively rely on the scientific method along with detailed peer reviewed research (which also relies on scientific method) to bring the facts as they stand. If new knowledge (light) which is always coming, uncovers or disrupts current facts then so be it. This is refreshing as the Light (knowledge) needs no one to vouch for it as it exposes the underlying truth that it reveals.

This is a book that really makes you think outside of the religious norms you have about life, creation, and the universe, The authors here do a good job of providing references for their information and you can easily verify most claims in the book, i wish the authors would have went more into the Origins of religion in this book but I guess thats for another edition. Overall a great book to make you think, but its not dogmatic.

As a newborn.. I am on a knowledge binge to become wise and understand my place in this universe. This book has opened my mind beyond expectation. I am in the process of reading Knowledge of Self a Collection of Wisdom on the Science of Everything in Life as well as my 120's. This is only the beginning.. Peace. #1+1=3

Had i known the book was written in first person I never would have purchased it. For those of you who are Christians, you might want to skip this one due to the language and sex scene. It would be nice if books were required to have a rating system. This is a great book for feminist wannabes. The feminist rhetoric comes through loud and clear.

Personally, I am half-tempted to travel to the author'shome - that wouldn't be 'stalkerish', would it? - for a peek at the time machine she must surely have hidden away in her gardenshed.My sincere "Thank you" to NetGalley, Lake Union Publishing and the author, Aimie K. This novel taught me another little bit about WWI. Who knew switchboard operators were actually sent overseas? I had an aunt that did that type of work! Those women lived in uncomfortable and often unsafe houses and buildings. And they evidently kept the lines of communication open, even if they had to move to the woods to do it. Great historical novel.

I never knew anything about the women who worked in the Army during WWI as communication specialists, linking the soldiers on the front with the Generals back in the command centers giving them orders. This was an extremely interesting book but added an element of romance and love to spice things up. Also the descriptions of Philadelphia Society Main Line were most interesting to me a born & bred Philly girl but certainly not a Main Line girl! Read it , you will love this book.

Girls in the Line is a thoroughly charming novel about the experiences of a young American woman who volunteers to serve in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War I. It is also a book that gives insight into the social changes that would sweep through American society in the wake of that conflict. The author does an excellent job describing the challenges that women on the front lines in this war faced, but also showed how friendship and commitment allowed them to transcend society's beliefs about women's limited capabilities. The book is well written and the characters are likable and interesting. There is romance but no explicit sex scenes. While the realities of war are described the author does not immerse the book in gruesome details. The book is not, by any means, the greatest novel about World War I, but I finished the book in one sitting and enjoyed it immensely. I would recommend the book to anyone who enjoys light historical fiction.

Historically accurate and engaging, The Girls on the Line tells the story of World War 1 heroine, Ruby, who after a personal tragedy, feels she must help more in the war effort. Since I knew very little about the women who served beyond doling donuts and rolling bandages during that war, I learned a great deal. I would recommend it especially for young women.

I found this piece of historical fiction to be quite annoying to read. The book, even though written in first person, fails to encapsulate it's characters. The father character is inconsistent, the mother only exists as an antagonist, and the main character herself is hard to grasp and relate to.The writing was done well and the book pays attention to historical accuracy, but the main character is prone to self-righteous monologues and has very few faults, which the author makes very clear from the get-go. She is characterized as a modern feminist who is constantly under attack for her ideals. And while I am a feminist myself, the trope that the main character falls into is more like a Disney princess playing the victim rather than an inspirational female character. All we hear throughout the novel is 'woe is me, I'm so oppressed', and it's overdone to an extreme that takes away from the enjoyment of the novel. I don't think these themes are bad, per se, just overdone. The 'I am right in every situation and far superior while being both a feminist champion for women and humble and gorgeous at the same time' characterization is so off-putting and quite unrealistic.There is also a sex scene, please be aware.All in all, I would not recommend.

This is a thrill ride of story with characters that you will become heavily invested in and a story that has emotional depth, danger, suspense and adventure. Ms Wylder's world building is as exemplary as ever with her characters having a depth and vibrancy to them that make them appear larger than life.The Dragon Warrior's Baby:This is such a great story. I loved the intensity of the passion between Misty and Volcant and when Volcant gets swept to the future and his memories are completely muddled he once again bumps into Misty but this time there is a secret that Misty is keeping and an intense suspicion on Volcant's side. Can these two resolve the issues between them & can Volcant complete his mission of finding the King's kidnapped daughter? There are twists & turns and a surprise or two that will warm your heart. The characters are very well-crafted and the story is one that will keep you engrossed from start to finish.The Dragon Beast's Virgin:Hendric & Sylvia’s story is definitely one you don’t want to miss. This is an outstanding addition to the series & as usual Ms Wylder has created characters that are colourful and complex and a story that is emotional, filled with adventure, danger & tonnes of passion.The Dragon Prince's Second Chance:Oh my, I am a massive fan of this author but I think she has gone and completely outdone herself with this one. These are two people who have a past that perfectly fits the "it's complicated" status. Warmund is a complex character, he comes across as a bit selfish and a bit of a navel gazer but his love for his sister and determination to find her more than redeems him in my eyes. I really enjoyed Penny, here is a woman who some would consider weak with her low self-esteem and the ways she looks for validation but I thought she was incredibly strong. Despite her loneliness she was a fabulous mother and had so much passion and love inside of her. I loved their story, the excitement, the plot twists, the world building and the love story was right on point.The Dragon Guard's Princess:Katrina has no idea who she really is & thinks that Thonis is there to protect her merely in her capacity as nanny to the Dragon King. Their attraction is undeniable but Thonis is determined he will not act on that atttaction.The two will have to overcome trials if they ever want to have a chance at a future, not least of which is the secret he is keeping from her. If it comes to light would she be able to forgive him? The characters are vibrant and the story is delightful.The Dragon Hunter's Temptation:Well I couldn't help but have mixed feelings for Hazel, on one hand the poor girl is just trying to do her job and now her life is in jeopardy and she knows of only four men that she can definitely trust but then on the other hand the four men she can trust are, in my mind, worth putting up with some danger for. Jord, Vindr, Watn, and Hyrr are fantastically created characters, they are supremely hot Alpha male dragons who, despite their duty to keep Hazel safe, know exactly what it is that they want from her. But we all know that blurring the lines between business and pleasure can sometimes lead to trouble, the big problem being is if these four men take their eye off the goal then Hazel could pay with her life. A thrilling story with really great characters that will keep you glued to your seat and keep you up way after your bedtime.The Dragon Fighter's Witch:This is a beautifully told story with characters that are crafted with depth and huge personalities and you won’t be able to stop yourself from getting behind Antonio and Audiv. They both have challenges to face but if they face them together they can face down anything. I enjoyed the evolution of their relationship and the entire premise of the story.The Dragon Villian's Prey:This is an absolutely delightful read. The characters are complex and I felt so sorry for Dominique, talk about a case of mistaken identity which changed her life irrevocably and what follows is a thrilling adventure fraught with danger, passion and finding that a wrong turn can sometimes lead to something so wonderful. But to get to that Dominique and Ivan will have to navigate a web of deceit, intrigue and revenge. Can Ivan right the wrongs of the past whilst keeping his humanity and protecting Dominique from something that he inadvertently got her involved in.

The Dragon King's Prisoner:Great short read. Anna is such a nerd and who is into comics and D&D. Her friends tolerate her, but when a sword comes into the shop they refuse to help her buy it. When she is acting out with it she all of a sudden is in another world, where dragons actually live. Indulf is king in this world and thinks Anna is there to kill him at first. Indulf has a son who can not be king because he was not born to Indulf's mate. Indulf's daughter was taken and his wife was killed. He does not know what to think of Anna and Anna thinks she's dreaming. Will they figure it out? Will thinks work out for Indulf and his kids? Will Anna and Andulf figure out that everything is real? What will happen with their feelings.The Dragon Warrior's Baby:A great short read. We have Misty and Volcant in this story line. With Indulf , Anna and their friends as secondary characters. Volcant keeps going back to the human world looking for the assassins that killed Indulf's wife and took his daughter. While he is there he keeps going to Misty for feelings that are hard to understand. One time when he goes thru it malfunctions and he disappears for a year, when he comes back he thinks that Misty is one of the assassins and that their child is the Kings daughter. Will Misty be able to get thru to him? Will Misty tell him Cara is his child? Can she save Volcant? Can Volcant save Misty and Cara? Who are the real assassins?The Dragon Beast's VirginLoved this one. Adventure, action, and more. We have Sylvia doing her ancestral tree, which she finds one that lives in the dragon world. Hendricks is Induff’s top man. He has a son, but no wife. Hendrix is sent to get Warmun who is Induff’s son and is in exile. Sylvia a d Avis is at the ministry do different things when kidnapped. What will happen to them? What happens when Hendricks sees them captive? Can Hendricks save everyone? Can they find out who is trying to kill them? What’s this that happens with Sylvia during a fight?The Dragon Prince's Second ChanceWarmund is on earth and has made a time travel device. He runs in to Penny and something happens. This book is very helpful and will give you a deep understanding of employment discrimination law. It helped me form my model answers. My professor is pulling exam questions from it also so, of course, it's extremely helpful.

nice way to learn

Well, I've learned a bit from it, but it reads like they were so rushed to get the second edition out that they completely by-passed editing. In the Examples he's will switch to she's, names will change, companies will change, claims of and types of harassment will change. But this finally put me over the edge:Page 126: " The Supreme Court . . . . ruled that §704(a) retaliation cases were not susceptible to mixed motive analysis."Page 129: "Although the Supreme Court has not ruled on this issue, the prevailing view among those circuit courts is that mixed motive analysis is available for retaliation claims."Well which is it???

This was a great supplement. Covered the same material as my professor and the practice questions were super helpful.

This book carried me to an A- two weeks before my final.

This book is easily the best introductory "guided tour" of complexity I know of. It has several key strengths:1. Mitchell covers many of the major topics which can reasonably be grouped under the umbrella of complexity, so the breadth of the book is excellent. For my benefit and yours, here are the main topics covered, roughly in the order they appear in the book: chaos, information, thermodynamics, Godel's theorem, Turing machines, evolution, genetics, measures of complexity, fractals, self-reproducing automata, genetic algorithms, cellular automata, artificial life, information processing in living systems, analogy-finding algorithms, game theory, networks, power laws, metabolic scaling, random boolean networks, and historical foundations of complex systems research (cybernetics, general systems theory, synergetics, etc.). This long list leaves out some significant complexity topics, but Mitchell's scope is still plentiful for an introductory guided tour.2. The topics are covered in sufficient depth to clearly convey the key concepts, which reflects the fact that Mitchell is a scientist who really knows the subject. Though the treatment is certainly introductory, rest assured that this isn't a superficial journalistic popularization which drops lots of names and terminology without getting into any real content.3. Mitchell's writing style is concise and precise, but still friendly and not at all terse. The book is quite easy to read if you have a decent background in general science.4. General readers will appreciate that there isn't much formal math in the book, yet Mitchell explains things in a way that nicely intimates the outlines of the math for readers who are math-savvy.5. Mitchell's presentation is sober and honest. She naturally highlights the potentials and promise of complex systems science, but she also openly acknowledges its past dead ends and likely future limitations.6. There are biographical notes interspersed throughout the book, which adds a nice human touch.For completeness, I'll note that I did notice a few technical errors in Mitchell's initial discussion of immunology. But these errors don't invalidate the general message, and can be overlooked, considering the overall excellence of the book.The bottom line is that I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in complexity (how could you not be?). It's a perfect introduction for beginners, and people well-versed in the subject will also appreciate the convenience of having a high-quality broad overview within the covers of just one book.

I'm a philosopher of science specializing in the foundations of complex systems theory, and this is absolutely the best comprehensive introduction to the field that I've come across. Mitchell is a computer science professor, as well as part of the Santa Fe Institute, so she's absolutely a reliable source on this topic. Somehow, they missed the point of her book. The world is far more complex and fascinating than we imagined. She integrates birds, broccoli, social networks, earthquakes, and economic concepts by presenting some of the hidden common factors.Is this complete? No. The field seems to be at a similar point to where the mathematics was before the birth of Leibnitz and Newton. On the other hand, you might suddenly see a connection no one else has. Here is an example. There is a similarity between the studies of cities, information theory concepts, and ants. Enjoy the exploration.
