This is an excellent book for people who are in the helping professions and want to remain energized while they are expected to give much social, emotional, and cognitive energy in their field of work. I highly recommend this as a way to stay balanced and effective when working in situations with high need populations from any social and economic communities.
If you think too much and your busy mind keeps you up at night, or if you dwell on things and can't get over them, or even if you just want your mind to be more clear, this is a great book. It has both helpful exercises and suggestions and ways of looking at things that help calm a busy mind. It is a short book but has a lot of content. I highly recommend it!
Sandra Ingerman is a key person for great wisdom. This book has so much insight it's become one of my top go-to books! Great for ideas & meditations showing how we can all take personal responsibility for our own thoughts, feelings, behavior and move out of the old paradigm ways! Great little book!

Ingerman accomplishes with skilled brevity sharing her own very honest experience with illness, healing, and mindset, alongside practical instructions for others to do the same. Drawing on her shamanic path and skills she delivers in this text exercises that are quite doable by anyone of any path who wishes to influence his or her own wellbeing. Ingerman carefully associates that the attentiveness one gives oneself benefits All, a principle that draws the work of this book to a strong conclusion: you cannot fail when you take care of yourself. Every little bit helps everyone. I have recommended this book to many people who deal with chronic illness or who want to become more active in their wellbeing.
This is a simple read with simple perspective learning techniques. Simple should not be confused with the POWERFUL points made by this author. These valuable insights appear to shine some light on how we approach others and even ourselves. These lessons can be easily applied to daily thought, conversation and living. Change is a process which acquires time and practice. This book gives some valuable starting points to help get those changes moving into action. If only one toxic thought or feeling is healed or at least made aware of from reading this book, than a the lesson has been learned and the rest is up to you.
This book, out of so many I am reading now, has been the most helpful in my life. The things I have been doing in life, or have allowed to be done to me, were just unnecessary. I know this now. I will re-read this book many times. My healer suggested Sandra Ingerman to me, and I have read several of her books, several of Michael Harner's books, and a few others of late. Of them all, this is the book that has been KEY to the change in my life, and consequently, how I affect those around me!
