This is AWSOME! the author is super good at drawing dragons. we bought the book with the red dragon first, and when I was done with it I HAD to goet the other one. Just so you know, the first one I got is with drawing, and this one is about coloring methods.

This is a whole, new, amazing book on Drawing Dragons. No, not just dragons- Drawing FANTASTIC Dragons!So what is the difference between the first book, "Drawing Dragons," by Sandra Staple (that's me!) and this book, "Drawing Fantastic Dragons," you ask?Well that is what I am here to answer!First off, both books are completely stand alone. You do NOT have to purchase the first book in order to use this book. But they DO compliment each other wonderfully and make a great set!Second, the first book goes into detail on drawing dragons in graphite pencil while THIS book is all done in COLORED pencil. So in the first book, all the images and tutorials include steps on how to shade with graphite pencil. In THIS book, all the drawings and tutorials are done in colored pencil, and include 3-4 steps on how to shade and color using colored pencil.So while pretty much all the other books out there either only bring you to completing a line step drawing, or show you a fully photo-shopped version after the line drawing, my books show you how to draw using ACTUAL PENCILS! Not that I have anything against digital medium mind you, but if you want to learn how to draw and COLOR dragons using more traditional- and less expensive- mediums, then "photo shopped" artwork isn't going to teach you what you need to know. So this book is all done in colored pencil.Also, there is NO repeated artwork between my two books. I drew all new artwork for this book, so you can buy both and all the drawings and tutorials will be different.The style I draw in could be called "fantastic realism" in that, unlike many other fantasy/dragon drawing books out there, my artwork is not all cartoony or comic bookish. I try to draw most of my dragons realistic looking.This entire book is all about drawing DRAGONS. There is no big filler section in the back covering all kinds of unrelated creatures or characters, or full page spreads filled with loosely drawn sketches with zero detail. I do have some great sections on drawing all different types of body types, scales, ridges, horns, animal-like dragons, classic dragonish beasts, and more, so if you do pick up the book I hope you enjoy it!Any other questions?
